Big Bass Bonanza

★★★★☆ 4.4 Editor rating

We spent a rainy weekend with Big Bass Bonanza and came away pleasantly surprised. It's a casual fishing game built around timing and rhythm — you cast, wait for a bite, and then reel in with taps that have to land on the right beat. The whole thing loads instantly and runs perfectly with no connection, which is exactly what we look for.

What makes it stick is how tactile it feels. Each catch has weight to it, the water shimmers nicely even on older phones, and the little celebratory jingle when you land a big one never stopped being fun. Controls are one-handed and forgiving, so it's easy to pick up during a coffee break and put down again.

It won't reinvent your idea of a game, but as a low-stress way to pass ten minutes it earns its spot. We kept coming back to it more than we expected, which is usually the sign of a well-tuned casual title.
